There are many types of BBQ sauce, all legitimate; what matters is that each person can find something they like.
I am, however, disgusted that almost everything in the stores is now lightly flavored high-fructose corn syrup. This makes it difficult to cook sloppy joes from scratch, as one of the ingredients is BBQ sauce.

A more typical argument is whether something counts as homemade or from scratch if it has some prepared ingredients (such as ketchup) or only if it is made entirely from single ingredients.
