>> His mood seems much improved from previous fics, as well as the amount of trust he is showing. <<
Yes, it is. The more time Bucky spends with his new teamfamily, the more trust builds up, and that helps him heal. He still has ups and downs, especially because of the mood-altering HYDRAwear; but on the whole, he's getting better.
>> I said on a previous chapter how excited I was to see this, but seriously, this series never fails to cheer me up and make me smile. :)
Aww! Thank you. I'm glad this resonates with you.
>> I love how careful you are with your characters and your audience. <<
Being careful with the characters is part aspiration to excellent craft, and part just me fantasizing about how a better world would look. How would people make that work? What would they do differently? Well, here it is.
Being careful with the audience is part based on what I prefer as a reader, and what people need in order to make informed decisions. I don't want anyone to stumble into really rough stuff without warning. I try to label things accordingly, so people can decide what they want to read right now or later or not at all. I have found that this enables people to take much more adventurous chances than they would if reading blind. Also, as they get to know me, they see how well I handle sensitive issues, and that inclines many readers to trust me with stuff they would not otherwise read. That's flattering.
>> (Not sure if I missed something: Clint left the room after the movie, but then he was back when they were talking about Betty modelling for Steve! He mentioned chestnut horses. Did he come back in?) <<
As I mentioned to the other person who caught this: it is either a cut-and-paste error or a sequencing error. I have fixed it my moving Clint's departure later. Thanks to both for alerting me to this. I don't often edit fanfic but when it's a small fix like this, I can do it.
Yay!
