This makes me wonder when they're going to realize that JARVIS has social anxiety to some extent. He hides it under heavy HEAVY swathes of competence but it is definitely there and not unjustified when he is constantly dealing with people who don't view him as a PERSON and would react very violently if they ever got a clue about his actual personhood. And that's including friendlies like the employees at SI and in the Tower who think he's a swell responsive intercom, to those who understand that he controls tower functions and the thousands of hacking attempts daily some who attempt to give him viruses (I too would be paranoid if my reality was a world in which people were continually trying to take me out or mess me up with biological warfare and it was even more dangerous for me to try and assert my personhood to the people coming at me with virtual syringes full of nasty and annoying ick bits.)
Not to mention his ROTTEN experiences with Stane and Fury which I suspect have not been fully dealt with because of his perfect recall and primary directives, methinks he's dissected those encounters over and over and over and over again to try and figure out more and more layers of protections and safeguards that he can apply so that DOESNT HAPPEN AGAIN.
Phil already suspects it with the bots (that's also layered with stranger anxiety and caregiver attachment issues they really are a lot like some of the TERRIFIED 2 and 3 year olds that we see at MOPS meetings where you have to teach both mom and child that ten minutes relatively calm away from mom is a good thing and its okay if they have to go back to mom after that)
But JARVIS is also connected to the bots, I wonder what input he got from the joybuzzer incident and how big a role he played in getting them calmed down afterward.
He is a person and he is not a person, he routinely divides and subdivides his attention across dozens of user interfaces and processes and commands at a time and deals with whole categories of information at speeds that would give human brains fits if not outright electrical shortages were we to attempt the same things in the same ways
I'm not surprised he hides, the only one who really understands what he's dealing with is TONY...And I'm sure that Tony doesn't grasp all of it, since there are probably routines and subroutines that JARVIS developed for himself along the way
