The reason why I prefer the cardboard to landscaper's cloth is because it eventually rots. Landscaper's cloth has to be pulled up if you ever want to rework the ground under it and that's a real bummer. I understand not having enough energy to get fancy...I'm having troubles with that myself right now. :^}
