Sadly a rare trait, but that impressed me too. Although it might be interesting to consider widespread languages in a different group -- for example, looking at accents.
Weird. The Appalachian accent is full of dipthongs and complex sounds... "Nolichucky" (a Cherokee word), and "paints is them thaings y'put on yer laigs"... or "Sam" clearly being a two syllable word... "Sayum"...
But then us hillbillies is weird anyway. Proud of it. ;)
