Clifford always reminded me of a kid after a sudden growth spurt. Still three, but as tall as a five-year-old and /awkward/ as all get out. I'm glad there are two last books coming out next year.
May his memory be a blessing, and may his strips continue to bring joy on rereading to us who remember them, and (also) on first reading to those who have the good fortune of just discovering them.
I saw that he died. I think that the words "Clifford The Big Red Dog" is just about the most superb name for a character I ever ran across, and I have enjoyed muttering it to myself from time to time over the years. The illustrations, and the dog's personality, have always been a lot of fun for me.
OUCH
