I've been contemplating posting conceptual fiction about an alternate world spun off from the Lilith story, where Lilith is the ancestral mother-figure and Eve is a vague legendary image. (Because it's all true, or because refugees from our world handed them the legend? Who knows?)
That sounds like a fascinating story. It would change a LOT. There would be equality between the sexes. Women would know magic. I'm not sure if "flew away" refers to shapeshifting or something more like Superman, although Lilith is often depicted with owl wings and claws. All kinds of exotic sex would be ordinary, but female submission (and probably male) would be considered really perverse.
Not quite the way I envisioned it...magic doesn't work (although some technology that's failed here works there, and some animals that are mythical here are real there and vice versa). But rape is impossible, the sexes are equal, and what's considered perverse is having more than two children--no overpopulation.
In the version I read first, Lilith just left (like Selu in another story). In the piece of fiction that refuses to cohere as a traditional novel but might work as a fictional blog, or set of blogs (still not sure), this was due to one of those lovely science-fiction reality-split cliches. People think of themselves as human and can "pass" in our world. But I did use the bit about Lilith being "haunched," or having stronger pelvic muscles; that's why rape is impossible.
*Since* rape is impossible, submission in the sense of passivity is considered erotic by some people. Submission to *abuse* wouldn't be.
