ysabetwordsmith: Shaeth is drunk (one god)
This poem is spillover from the June 6, 2017 Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired by a prompt from [personal profile] antisocialite_forum. It also fills the "seeing from a different perspective" square in my 3-1-17 card for the Disability Bingo fest. This poem has been sponsored by [personal profile] society_of_antisocialites. It belongs to the series One God's Story of Mid-Life Crisis.

Warning: This poem contains some intense topics. Highlight to read the warnings, some of which are spoilers. It features clingy evil cultists, drunken orgies, rape, reputation, references to prostitution, confusion and anxiety, alcohol-induced impotence, vaguely described injuries from sexual assault, indifference, and other mayhem. If these are sensitive issues for you, please consider your tastes and headspace before reading onward.

Good News

"First Aid for Scrapes and Cuts" has been updated several times with new details. There are still other things I'd like to add, such as more references for road rash and hydrogels, just haven't had time yet.

There will be a Poetry Fishbowl on Tuesday, July 4 with a theme of "gender, orientation, and identity." Please drop by then and give me some prompts!

Poetry in Microfunding:
"A Hope and a Promise" belongs to Polychrome Heroics.  Aidan and Mrs. Ozenne talk more about Saraphina as she interacts with another toddler.  "Essential for Human Survival" belongs to Polychrome Heroics: Cassandra.  Groundhog and Cassandra encounter one of the monks. "The Inner Transition" belongs to Polychrome Heroics: Berettaflies.  Valor's Widow finds out what Stylet has in his backpack.

Weather has been mostly mild, but getting warmer again.  Currently blooming: dandelions, carnations, marigolds, petunias, lantana, million bells, snapdragons, zinnias, firecracker plant, torenia, yarrow, white and red clover, daylilies, rose campion, coreopsis, morning glories, spiderwort, echinacea, golden rain tree, blackberry lilies. There are just a few mulberries left. Blackberries are turning pink.

After writing the post about coping with grief, I got to thinking about how Terramagne-America handles this sort of thing. As with many social aspects, they do it better. One thing I had spotted in passing earlier was the use of followup calls after bereavement, and questionnaires to identify people who would welcome such contact. That sounded really useful, so I found one and wrote it down. This is typical of handouts available at funeral parlors, hospitals, counseling centers, and other places where people may interact with death and mourning. It can also be used for self-assessment; although that approach doesn't provide the same level of support, it can still illuminate what is happening in your grief process.

Today was warm and muggy.  We moved two piles of grass to the grass wall.

EDIT 7/3/17: I went out and watered plants.

Fireflies are out.  They like the warm damp weather.

Most of today, like yesterday, has been focused on cooking up the ingredients bought on Saturday.  My house smells like sloppy joes right now.  :D
