I saw a brown thrasher busily digging into the hopper feeder. :D They are cheerful singers and voracious insectivores, supplementing with seeds when insects are less plentiful.
Sweet music! The guide said 'like a mockingbird' in some of their songs and the sound clip did indeed sound like our cheery singers in the neighborhood. Lucky you; they look cute, too, like wrens.
One summer when I was a kid, a pair of thrashers made it their business to follow my cat around ALL THE TIME and yell at her. That was the only time I'd ever seen her intimidated! Porr girl spent most of the summer indoors- horrors!
