and especially, calling her up to the board for FOUR TIMES as many math problems.
If she's good at math, it's boring and tedious. If she's struggling with the concept, /everybody/ will see it. (If she's truly awful at math, I think he would've chosen a different consequence, since he was so perceptive otherwise.)
