>> There's actually already eleven chapters of the fic written. 25k in five days. *stares* Last time I managed that sort of pace was two years ago. <<

*GLEE* I have started reading this and I'm enjoying it immensely.

Hmm, want to cross-reference our writing in the notes? The tones are different, but the team-as-family and many other themes are the same, thus likely to appeal to some of the same readers.

>> Exactly. I mean, Erskine made a point of asking Steve to promise to 'stay a good man' rather than a 'perfect soldier'. He *died* reminding Steve of that promise, and like HELL Steve would go back on something like that. It would have been like Tony saying 'Yinsen who?' and just continuing to be the way he had been prior to Afghanistan. <<

Good point.

If I get a chance, I'm hoping to touch on Steve's relationship with Erskine. It was a major thing for him, even though they had so very little time together. More an affirmation than a turning point as Yinsen was for Tony, but still, a guiding light in Steve's life.

>> Yeah, it's definitely going to be one of those fics, guaranteed. Though I'm going to be making a point of dealing with the interpersonal and personal stuff in between smacking people with cluebats like it's going out of style.<<

That all sounds good.

>> Though I have to admit that, in order to spare myself some serious pain, I'm pretending the vast majority of Norse god lore either doesn't exist or was MADE UP, because if even a tenth of that shit really happened to Loki, I cannot see how they wouldn't fucking *level* Asgard in reaction and beat Thor to death, because holy shit. <<

I'll probably pick and choose, if I get far enough to write about Loki. Sleipnir is movieverse canon so I'm going with that for sure. I have an idea for Loki's mouth being sewn shut too. Beyond that, I'm not sure. I do think it will be interesting to contrast some differences between Asgardian and Midgardian laws regarding things that Loki and Thor have done, or had done to them; and what Fury and some other people have done; and how that affects relationships between the realms.

>>I actually haven't seen it, just heard about it from people that have. In this particular case, it's saved me money, because I HAD planned to go see it in the theaters, and now I'm all 'hell no'.<<

I've noticed an increasing tendency for me to be unsold on movies. I'll see a trailer and think, "That might be worth watching," then read something about it that sucks and think, nah. Avatar: The Last Airbender and Star Trek: Into Darkness over whitewashing, Oz the Great and Powerful over warping the gender dynamics, etc.
