Loved this! My novel-world is heavy with science and medical types who run a pretty wide spectrum of appearences, ethnicities, and mannerisms, as my experiences with scientists IRL have shown them to be a varied lot. My SO plays Warhammer 40k with a nuclear engineer and an electrochemist, and I can assure you they aren't the thick-glasses-and-pocket-protectors type.
We have a physicist friend who is a Coptic Egyptian American Englishman, bellringer, vegetarian, pagan and polyamorous firewalker and all round nice guy! He also looks like someone who just stepped out of an ancient Egyptian frieze. :o)
I like to vary my scientist characters. I've gone through all kinds of different cultures and appearances.
In Schrodinger's Heroes, Alex is a hot blonde. Morgan is Hawaiian/Japanese/American. Female!Morgan looks more Hawaiian, being short and curvy. Male!Morgan looks more Japanese, a little taller and more angular.
The only Egyptian-descended character I can think of off the top of my head is a soldier rather than a scientist. Adjo is currently starring in "Alien In-Laws."
