Publishing's Ecosystem on the Brink

This article takes a wide-angle view of Amazon's attempt to monopolize publishing, and the problems this causes.  I still think that the "Big Six" publishers could fight back effectively by pooling their resources to create an online bookseller.  They have a huge amount of what people want to buy.
