Birdfeeding

Today is partly sunny and mild.

I haven't fed the birds yet.  I've seen a flock of house finches, a mourning dove, and a bluejay.  :D  I'm so happy that the bluejay showed up, eating seeds on the ground in the forest garden.  I heard one screaming yesterday but didn't see it.  They're such pretty birds.

EDIT 9/26/24 -- I fed the birds.

I put out water for the birds and watered a few plants.

EDIT 9/26/24 -- I gathered seeds from wild senna and sowed them in the wildflower garden.

I saw at least 3 squirrels chasing around in a tree by the parking lot.  One of them disappeared into a hole in the branch.  :D

EDIT 9/26/24 -- I gathered seeds from purple echinacea, then sowed them under trees in the savanna and out in the prairie garden.

I saw wrens and finches foraging in the prairie garden.

EDIT 9/26/24 -- I gathered seeds from mountain mint, possibly narrow-leaved mountain mint, then sowed them under trees in the savanna and out in the prairie garden.

EDIT 9/26/24 -- I gathered seeds from yellow coneflower, then sowed them under trees in the savanna and out in the prairie garden.

EDIT 9/26/24 -- We did a bit of trimming along the street-side of the savanna hedge, but then the trimmer conked out.  :/  I cut some stray branches with hand clippers, and still need to do more of that.

EDIT 9/26/24 -- I did a bit of work around the patio.

As it is getting late, I am done for the night.
