Today we went out shopping for a bunch of stuff.
We dropped off a load of clothes at a thrift store.
At Home Depot, we picked up a couple of large buckets, but couldn't find the kind of medium one I wanted. To finish the cabinet, I chose Howard Feed-n-Wax with Beeswax and Orange Oil, which is the kind of oil and wax combo product I was exploring last night. I was happy to find something food-safe since it's a kitchen cabinet that will hold edibles; they'll be in bottles but I'm still not keen on a chemical finish. So this is nice. To hang it, I discovered a type of hardware that's new to me. It's a pair of metal slats that fit together. You screw one to the wall, one to the cabinet, and then connect them. It's rated up to 100 pounds, and unlike brackets, you can lift off the cabinet if necessary. :D I looked at plants but didn't find much, although I did pick up a purple raspberry.
We ate lunch at Taco Bell.
At Rural King, I got 2 pink peonies, 1 white peony, 1 white hydrangea, 1 yellow raspberry, and bleeding hearts. Also 2 bags of cypress mulch and 2 bags of composted manure.
Then we headed up to Amish territory. We stopped at several places, mostly for groceries. We also got ice cream.
At a hardware store, I managed to find a small bucket, not the medium I was looking for, but this one is good for little jobs I was previously using an empty flowerpot for. I also got a package of columbines and another of lily of the valley.
On the way home, we stopped at the Mexican bakery and picked up treats.
It has been a productive day. :D
