Birdfeeding

Today is sunny and warm.

I fed the birds.   I haven't seen much activity today though.

I put out water for the birds and watered a few plants.

The cornfield across from us is being harvested.

EDIT 10/1/23 -- I watered the septic garden and the patio plants.

Today's Cooking

Today I made the "Spicy Shepherd's Pie" which is recipe 17 in Great Meat Dishes: Oven-baked Meat Dishes from Great American Recipes: Easy Everyday Cooking that Doug found in a thrift store recently. (It's available here as a hardcover, but ours is a ring-bound version.) Note that this is actually a cottage pie, not a shepherd's pie, as it uses beef instead of lamb. I used Idahoan plain instant mashed potatoes, as we have found that that best type for such toppings.

Fall Fest Bingo Card 10-1-23

Here is my card for the Fall Fest Bingo over in allbingo. The fest runs from October 1-31. (See all my 2023 bingo cards.)

If you'd like to sponsor a particular square, especially if you have an idea for what character, series, or situation it would fit -- talk to me and we'll work something out. I've had a few requests for this and the results have been awesome so far. This is a good opportunity for those of you with favorites that don't always mesh well with the themes of my monthly projects. I may still post some of the fills for free, because I'm using this to attract new readers; but if it brings in money, that means I can do more of it. That's part of why I'm crossing some of the bingo prompts with other projects, such as the Poetry Fishbowl.
