Today is cloudy and mild.
I fed the birds. I've seen a large flock of sparrows, a flock of mourning doves, a flock of grackles and brown-headed cowbirds, a female cardinal, and a fox squirrel. I saw a second squirrel high in a tree, too.
I started raking dry grass stems from the patch of big bluestem. Then I hauled two trolleys of stems to the firepit.
EDIT 4/12/22 -- I raked another part of the big bluestem, then took two trolleys of stems to the firepit.
I saw a pair of house finches on the hopper feeder.
EDIT 4/12/22 -- For supper, I cut a bunch of garlic chives to make stir-fry. First harvest! :D
After supper, I raked more of the big bluestem, then took two trolleys of stems to the firepit. The patch is about halfway done now.
EDIT 4/12/22 -- I raked more of the big bluestem, then took two trolleys of stems to the firepit. The patch is about two-thirds done. As it is now dark, I am done for the night.
