Depaving Roads

Now here's an example where it makes good sense to depave: low-traffic rural roads. Farm-to-market roads are used primarily by farmers driving tractors or pickup trucks, and most other rural folks also drive vehicles suited to rugged conditions. Because you never know when you'll have to pull into the ditch to get away from a tractor that is twice as wide as the road.

Birdfeeding

Today is chilly and clear.

I fed the birds.  I've seen a large flock of goldfinches, a small flock of house finches, two pairs of cardinals, several dark-eyed juncos, and a sparrow. 

I pulled weeds around the patio and dumped a trolley in the firepit.

Delight Per Acre

Here's an interesting metric: how much enjoyment is derived from each acre, rather than how much money.  It's a good thing to keep in mind if you want to build environment that are healthy instead of unhealthy for people to live in.  Particularly, keep an eye on how much greenspace you have.
