Birdfeeding

Today is sunny and hot.

I fed the birds.  I saw a lady cardinal, but nothing else at the feeders yet.

Wild sunflowers are blooming at the east edge of the yard.

EDIT 8/28/21 -- I planted butterfly milkweed in the wildflower garden.

Lots of orb weaver spiders out this year.  I saw a flight of dragonflies zooming overhead too.  <3 insectivores.

Poetry Fishbowl Report for August 3, 2021

Our theme this time was "Asexual / Demisexual Intimacy Pr0n." I wrote from 1 PM to 7 AM, so about 16 hours, accounting for lunch and supper breaks. I wrote 3 poems on Tuesday and 6 later in the week.

Participation was up somewhat, with 10 comments on LiveJournal and another 69 on Dreamwidth. A total of 17 people sent prompts.

Tree Frog

This green tree frog was on our back door tonight.  :D  Probably he climbed up there to hunt bugs attracted to the house lights.  I couldn't get a really good picture, but you can sort of see him.  He's smaller than my thumb tip, so not fully grown.  I think this is the third green tree frog I've seen in my yard -- the second this year! -- so I must be doing something right.  I've seen a gray one once.
