Birdfeeding

Today is partly cloudy and mild.

I fed the birds.  I've seen house finches, sparrows, and doves today. 

Bootleg Fire

This wildfire in Oregon is so big and hot that it generates its own weather.  I'm familiar with this as a feature of large wildfires (and also volcanoes) but I just discovered that it has its own name: pyrocumulus clouds.  :D 

Blue Origin

Blue Origin made its successful flight. \o/  Remember that replicability matters in science -- other people have to accomplish the same thing for it to count.  Virgin Galactic used slightly different equipment, but these are both private ventures into space, and that's important.
