For my current set of tips, I'm using the list "101 Small Ways You Can Improve Your City.

80. Start a public mapping project. If action follows knowledge, than getting good data about your neighborhood can be the first step toward improvement. Nonprofits such as Public Lab offer the advice and knowledge needed to create citizen-made maps. You can also build DIY sensors to collect key data points such as pollution levels, which can help inform larger public debates about the environment.

Someone really needs to redo YardMap, which is no longer active, and focus on mapping things like a city's parks, how many street trees it has, and which private yards are landscaped for wildlife.  This would make it much easier to see where new plantings could do the most good, help homeowners decide what to plant, and connect the dots between large habitats to assist wildlife in traveling.

It rained last night.  It was raining this morning too.

I spotted a gap in the rain and figured I could go out to plant the last of the big bluestem grass seed and some wildflower seeds.  It started sprinkling again on the way out to the prairie garden.  Before I finished, it was raining rather briskly.  But I did manage to get all the seeds planted.  \o/

There were still  mosquitoes out even in the rain.  :/

EDIT 7/10/21 -- I saw a rainbow and a pair of barn swallows swooping around.  :D
