The weather has been variable here. We had a couple of cooler days and now it's quite warm again. Seen at the birdfeeders this week: a small flock of house finches, a few sparrows, a few mourning doves, a female cardinal, a male rose-breasted grosbeak, and a squirrel. Currently blooming: yellow Asiatic lilies, orange daylilies, violas, spiderwort, a couple of white things in the wildflower garden, purple coneflower, yellow coneflower, Shasta daisy, morning glories, and
pink catchfly. Orange butterflyweed is setting seedpods. Blackberries and mulberries are ripe. Pie cherries and black raspberries are done.
