Birdfeeding
Jul. 14th, 2020 04:43 pmToday is warm and mostly sunny.
I fed the birds.
We cut up dead wood in the orchard and hauled it to the firepit.
I saw a zebra swallowtail in the ritual meadow. :D While native to this area, they are uncommon here, as this is the northern part of their range and their caterpillars have only one host plant, pawpaw. I have tried and tried to get pawpaw growing here, but they're fussy things that dislike transplanting. :/ Perhaps the changing climate has encouraged zebra swallowtails to move north more.
EDIT 7/14/20 -- I picked up a trolley full of wood in the orchard and dumped it in the firepit.
