A friend asked me about how to make a concrete apology, so I thought other folks might appreciate seeing this.

The Holiday Poetry Sale is now CLOSED. Thank you for your support.

A silver lantern glazed with cobalt glass panes sends a flickering blue light over the snow...

Welcome to the 2019 Holiday Poetry Sale! From Monday, December 16 through Friday, December 20, my remaining fishbowl poems from 2019 are half price. So are poems from the Creative Jam and other activities. Especially check out the epics; they range from $15.50 to $283, so if you've been yearning for an epic of your very own, now's the time! Furthermore, there are no open epics at the moment, so you may open up the three new ones, and open epics are locked at their initial price. For those of you with just a few dollars to spend, we're starting with three poems at $2.50 and one at $5. Thumbnail descriptions of the individual poems appear in the first section, then the later part is listed by price and includes a few poems that don't fit into any series.

See Welcome to Winterfaire 2019 for an opportunity to buy or sell holiday gifts and services. We now have links to several other such lists.

Poetry in Microfunding:

There are two open epics.

"A Different Vision of Life" is now complete. Griffin has supper with a new friend.

"Goldilocks and the Genderbears" is now complete. Goldilocks discusses gender with the bears.

This clears the slate going into the Holiday Poetry Sale, so people are welcome to open new epics if they wish.  Remember that poems are locked at the opening price.

The weather has been mostly moderate, then it snowed vigorously yesterday.  The ground is covered in a layer of white and the trees are frosted.  Icicles fringe the roof.  Seen at the birdfeeders this week: a large flock of sparrows, a large flock of mourning doves, a small flock of dark-eyed juncos, a small flock of cardinals, several house finches, a downy woodpecker, and a squirrel.  The snow brought out many birds today.  I saw at least 4 pairs of cardinals.  Dozens of mourning doves roosted on the porch -- all along the windowsills and on the stuff stored under the overhang.  I saw them from inside the house.  When I went out to fill the feeders, they exploded into flight.  :D

This poem is spillover from the December 4, 2018 Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired by a prompt from [personal profile] louisadkins. It also fills the "Sweat" square in my 12-1-18 card for the Summer in December Bingo fest. This poem has been sponsored by Anthony & Shirley Barrette. It belongs to the Not Quite Kansas series and directly follows "Cruel Intentions and Difficult Truths."
