I noticed that there are social alert hats that say things like Privacy Please and Do Not Disturb.  That could be useful when going out in public.

Community Building Tip: Connections

In today's fragmented world, people can improve it by reaching out to each other. Here are some ideas for building community in your neighborhood.

Connect online to connect offline. Websites like Next Door have created whole new online neighborhoods, but it’s important to remember to not use these sites in place of actually getting to know our neighbors in real life. So, go ahead and create that neighborhood Facebook group page. But, be sure to use it to encourage offline interaction, too.

I will add: check to see if your town has a community website.  That's a good place to look for local businesses, clubs, upcoming activities, and so on.  More would be better.
