I loved this detailed essay about human relationships with other species, real and potential.  *chuckle*  It is very timely given that I just turned in "Forbidden Love" at Torn World.

A fascinating essay, and a topic which I often contemplate myself. We can't even treat our own species with respect, let alone the other species we share the planet with. And I was just thinking what you'd said in your comment on the essay-- I hope that any aliens who might come out here will keep well out of sight, because humanity will be vicious to them.
