Everyone needs contact comfort sometimes. Not everyone has ample opportunities for this in facetime. So here is a chance for a cuddle party in cyberspace. Virtual cuddling can help people feel better.

We have a cuddle room that comes with fort cushions, fort frames, sheets for draping, and a weighted blanket. A nest full of colorful egg pillows sits in one corner. There is a basket of grooming brushes, hairbrushes, and styling combs. A bin holds textured pillows. There is a big basket of craft supplies along with art markers, coloring pages, and blank paper. The kitchen has a popcorn machine. Labels are available to mark dietary needs, recipe ingredients, and level of spiciness. Here is the bathroom, open to everyone. There is a lawn tent and an outdoor hot tub. Bathers should post a sign for nude or clothed activity. Come snuggle up!

Valentine's Day Recipes -- All Recipes

The most romantic and intimate thing we've done with food was actually for Beltane rather than Valentine's Day but will work for this too. It's a Finger Feast. All the food is finger food. You can't feed yourself. You feed each other. This can be done with one partner or a group of friends. Food is bonding, especially when people are offering food to each other, and it's food they've both touched.

Normally, I'd MISS this, because my life is so out of synch with a calendar that it's obnoxious.

Today, however, I took an emotional hit that surprised me, and I'm glad that the cuddle party is here. What was it? Something on the DW feed about Valentine's Day and couple-y things.

That's a whole mess of ECR, so rather than talk about it, I'll just flop on a sofa with about twenty pounds of blankets (I mean that literally in real life; I sleep under fifteen layers right now. It helps.)

I'm late, because work, but here's another five pounds or so of blankets for ya, whenever you're next ready for couch time. Take your pick(s) of fuzzy blue microfiber, cream colored wool (with an allergy tag), handsewn red and blue velvet with tassels, a green and white cotton woven afghan with a canoeing scene, a floofy plain quilt in a pale green coverlet, and a purple-lavender-white art quilt bedspread.

Care for tea? I've been making gingery herbal 'tea' with fruit juice as the base, and dumping in assorted warming spices and vitamin supplements up to my daily limit, on top of that, to try to outrun the winter doldrums. But I could manage plain mint or chamomile, too, or a cuppa of bog standard black tea with or without cream.

Oooh.

Wraps up, layering wool closest to me, and that microfiber layer outermost, to keep dust and gray hairs off the quilt nearest it. All snuggled in!

I'll be over here banging my head against a post, mostly gently. Would someone please set a timer for three minutes, then insert a thin cushion between my forehead and the beam, then set a timer ⌛ for another two minutes of headbanging?

After that, you may gently lead me away from the beam to a cozy pile of pillows, add a weighted blanket over the top of me, and use my belly or thigh as a pillow to keep me company while you read.

I'll pet your hair till you or I doze off.

Ouch

I move closer, very softly humming Sinatra's "Fly Me to the Moon." the song runs 2.5 minutes exactly, so twice through is five minutes. Then I wrap a quilt with green coverlet into a long rectangle, and hold it around the post for one more run through the song. It's a smidge short, but I do worry about too much headbanging.

Then we shuffle (because I'm currently playing the blanket version of Cousin It) to a sofa and get comfy.
