Today I'm making  Healthy Spice Quick Bread. This way we'll have something that isn't cold to go with the apple topping.

EDIT 1/25/26 -- The spice bread turned out pretty well.  The flavor is good, not particularly strong, a little on the dry side -- but it works great with the apple topping and probably would with any other wet topping. \o/

The reason I started linking recipes after my poems is that the descriptions of food would make people ask for the recipes.

If you do it again, replace half the whole wheat flour with a white flour, and I bet it will be less dry.

That's one approach. More likely I'll try applesauce first. I like baking with whole-wheat flour, and I know it needs wet sticky ingredients. I just thought the maple syrup would be enough.
