Today's Adventures

ysabetwordsmithToday we went to Mattoon.
We ate supper at Panda Express.
We went to a friend's place for our esbat. This time the theme was safe travel in winter.
After that, we caught the Mattoon Lightworks display. There were a bunch of new ones this year. Also they moved the 12 Days of Christmas set so that it runs along the street rather than inside the park along the drive route. I thought it was missing until we were pulling out. We did get 3 candy canes. Ideally I could use a few more before I make the candy cane cookies.
Finally we stopped at Insomnia Cookies. We picked out the Jinglebread and the Salted Maple, then got a Snowball for free. The Jinglebread is a most excellent gingerbread with a robust molasses flavor and enough ginger to be actually zesty. :D I would love to have that one again. The Salted Maple had more salt than maple flavor but it was okay. Neither of us were impressed by the Snowball.
