Today's Adventures

ysabetwordsmithWe went out shopping today.
Since we got an early start, we stopped at Dunkin' Donuts for croissant sandwiches and donut holes. We're very fond of both.
Then we went to the Mattoon Big Lots for its closing sale. :( That building is older than I am, a big flat thing with pebbled walls. It used to be 3D when I was little, which was a very similar bargain store that carried housewares, entertainment, and such. It's always been more-or-less the same kind of place. I will miss it so much. We made some great finds, though. My best score was a long rope of jumbo cobalt glass beads, along with a blue-and-white ceramic bowl, a rainbow sash, and a sparkly candleholder. My partner Doug found some more DVDs and a jumbo set of Tumbling Towers / Jenga.
Next we tried Five Below looking for a paint pen and a fillable ornament shell. I didn't find either of those, but I did find some hazelnut candy, and Doug spotted a color-coded Tumbling Towers. We basically collect stacking-block games.
In Michael's I finally found not one but two paint pens. \o/ So I need to make some test labels with those plus my old Sharpie to see which lasts the longest outdoors. I also found a pair of taper candles that look like tall skinny pine trees, silver with glitter. We picked up three different cookbooks too. \o/
It has been a good day.
