Today's Adventures

ysabetwordsmithToday we went out with a friend.
We had lunch at Cracker Barrel. It's disorienting being in a restaurant on Halloween, surrounded by Christmas decorations and music. 0_o The food was decent, but I'm not a fan of their lunch menu. Everything is just too big for me. My partner Doug and I wound up splitting a breakfast platter that included eggs, bacon, fried apples, and biscuits and gravy. By my standards that is two whole breakfasts. We did pick up some artisan sodas and a box of raspberry jelly sticks.
Afterwards, we went to Akasha Zamora. They still had one of the big mandalas we were considering, the green and brown one, so we bought it. We plan to hang that in the living room. I also bought another piece of amethyst crystal for the amethyst garden. :D Our favorite artist had some new pieces up too. There was a small square with individual flowers done in texture paste. Also, the shopkeeper showed us a photo of the artist's latest work, which is string art. This was the biggest, fanciest one I'd ever seen, a huge round mandala -- and it was her first piece. O.O I love string art, so I'm hoping that she'll do some for sale and in smaller sizes.
We went back home for a while in the afternoon.
Later in the evening, we went back out for supper. We tried out the Honey Bee Cafe. They advertised cage-free eggs and some other things. I got a gyro, which came with more meat than would fit in the pita -- I gave one big slab to my partner -- and homemade tzatziki sauce. It was quite good. I wouldn't mind going there again. I bet they have good pie.
After that, we did our Samhain ritual. This time we went with an Indian theme and focused on Ganesh as the Remover of Obstacles. For cakes and ale, we used a mango smoothie and ras malai.
It's been a good day.
