Singer / songwriter / actor Kris Kristofferson has passed away. His songs included "Jody and the Kid," "Lovin' Her Was Easier (than Anything I'll Ever Do Again)," "Me and Bobby McGee," "The Pilgrim: Chapter 33," "They Killed Him," and "To Beat the Devil." He starred in films including Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, A Star Is Born, Semi-Tough, Heaven's Gate. and Lone Star.

I'm betting Jesus meets him in full-on hippie mode.  Probably dressed up as the Pilgrim.

He got famous after Janis Joplin recorded "Me & Bobby McGee". And Johnny Cash told a long and very funny storyabout Kristofferson trying to get signed to a record label, and he says he's gonna go see his friend Johnny Cash. And Kris borrows a helicopter from the Army and lands it on Cash's lawn, and walks in with his demo tape to give Johnny.

Kristofferson is one of the better songwriters of his generation (maybe not quite on a par with Dolly Parton or Willie Nelson, but damn good.)

Mee And Bobby McGee was one of my favorites. I was surprised that he was as old as he was.

oh my god, I had no idea he'd died till I just read this now.
I met him once, he was a good guy. Very friendly. I happened to be on line behind him at a grocery store, I even remember what he was buying, strawberry Haagen Dazs. (sp.?)
