Birdfeeding

Today is partly sunny, windy, and sweltering. It's 90°F outside. >_<
I fed the birds. I've seen a pair of house finches and a brown-headed cowbird.
I put out water for the birds and watered a few plants.
EDIT 5/21/24 -- We went outside intending to walk the prairie garden and see what needs to be remowed. Instead we found a large branch from the Home Base mulberry fallen down and blocking the driveway. O_O We can't get out the back way (through the house yard and south lot) due to previous deadfall from several years ago. We're unlikely to find a tree service willing to come clear the driveway in the soon future. So now we have to try and cut our way past the smaller branches in the driveway to where we can skirt the edge of the Midwinter Grove. In 90°F heat. Fuck this day. >_<
EDIT 5/21/24 -- My partner Doug found a tree service willing to come out and look at the blockage today. So far, no idea if or when they'll be able to clear it. They don't have a chipper. If they haul away branches, that costs extra. So we're looking at just buying our own chipper. I've been out of mulch for over a year and having to buy it in bags is a pricey nuisance.
Witch us luck.
EDIT 5/21/24 -- One tree guy came out to look at the situation in the driveway. He didn't have all his equipment, but did have a small circular saw. Between the three of us, we managed to clear the driveway, turning 20' of obstruction into about 40' of brushpile. There is still a bunch of stuff that needs cut out and cut up, but we have a path out and in again.
So we said "fuck it" to doing any more yardwork and went out for ice cream.
We don't know when the crew will come out to cut up the rest of the wood. Hopefully some time this week.
