Today we made a smoothie with:

1 cup almond milk
1 cup Brown Cow vanilla yogurt
1 banana
2 tablespoons Kirkland Signature Mixed Nut Butter with Seeds
1 tablespoon honey
dash of pumpkin pie spice
1/2 cup ice

I quite like the mixed nut butter. It has a nice, dark, roasty flavor. They're not kidding about the separation, though; there was about an inch of oil at the top before I stirred it. This is made from almonds, cashews, pumpkin seeds, chia Seeds, amd flax seeds. I think this would make a great substitute for peanut butter, especially for cooking where you want a strong savory flavor.

The smoothie came out light as usual with this base version, and the mixed nut butter has a nice complex flavor. I think it picks up the pumpkin pie spice better than other nut butters we have tried.

Spices like ginger, nutmeg, clove and allspice that go well with pumpkin also tend to go well with banana.

Never thought about putting any nut butter into a smoothie. Might try it someday.

My problem with nut butters is that my eyes say "peanut butter," but my taste buds say "nope!" and I feel betrayed.

Hippiespawn. Rather like demonspawn. Might explain your affinity for honey, as that was a “thing” in the sacred sixties. Of course, everything was a “thing” in the 60’s.

Some honey was less contaminated with chemicals in the 1960s. Oh the days. It used to be only a few people who had "allergy" or other painful reactions to contaminants in sugar--my mother for one. (I ate a lot of things made with honey, growing up. I *hate* the taste of local honey.)

Now honey is much, MUCH more contaminated with sugar. The chance of finding honey that's not full of glyphosate is minute, and the majority of people with chronic conditions of all kinds feel worse when they eat honey but NOT when they eat sugar.
