Last week's Poetry Fishbowl went well. I am still writing.


There are three open epics at present.

"Within the Souls of Men" belongs to Shiv. Smoking Breath endeavors to mediate between Shiv and Ben.

"Before You Can Love Me" belongs to Iron Horses. Warshirt is so very confused about how the totem girls treat him.

"That Light Bulb in Your House with a Short in It" belongs to Shiv, Iron Horses, and Foster Fiasco. The Iron Horses ask for Shiv's help in rescuing a tribal child from an inappropriate foster home.


The weather has been mild here. Seen at the birdfeeders this week: a small flock of house finches, a small flock of sparrows, a pair of cardinals, and a fox squirrel. Currently blooming: moss rose, snapdragons, marigolds, verbena, petunias, portulaca, torenia, white alyssum, blue lobelia, pansies, violas, morning glory, impatiens, bachelor's button, cosmos, yellow coneflower, cypress vine, zinnias, gladioli, Queen Anne's lace, garlic chives, sunflowers, sedum, sunchokes, thistle, and goldenrod.

Silly ysabetwordsmith: - In "ice hockey," is word "ice" is redundant. - It's not a hobby. It's also not a matter of life and death, it's far more important than that.

(Actually, just being a stereotypical Canuck, I couldn't actually care less about hockey or any other sport.)

There is also field hockey and air hockey.

Those require the modifiers. Hockey, unspecified/unmodified means that which is placed on ice.
