<font color=purple. The southern border of Pennsylvania, bordering on Maryland and West Virginia, is the Mason-Dixon Line, separating the South from the North. And many of the inhabitants of Southern Pennsylvania can be described as "hillbillies" and "rednecks" - rural farmers barely eking out a living, and many of them are Old Order Amish, huge beards on the men and long dresses and bonnets on the women. A friend of mine lived in that part of PA when he was going to college, and I used to drive out to visit him as often as I could. He had a problem with an electrical outlet in his house, and he asked me to help him fix it. I walked into the hardware store in town, and an Amish woman tied her wagon to the rail outside the store and walked in and bought a sack of chicken feed, had the hardware guy help her put it in the wagon and she rode off down the street.
