In your own space, write a promo, manifesto or primer for your fave character, ship or fandom. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

I like lots of fandoms, so I'm just going to pick the one I write about the most, which is The Avengers with Love Is For Children. What I like most about this fandom is the characters and the team dynamics. They have a great mix of personalities, strengths and weaknesses. It makes for good team and family stories. They're equally well suited to domestic or dramatic contexts.
Here are some of the movies in release order:
Hulk (2003)
"The Consultant" (2011)
Iron Man (May 2, 2008)
The Incredible Hulk (June 13, 2008)
Iron Man 2 (2010)
Thor (May 6, 2011)
Captain America: The First Avenger (July 22, 2011)
"A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor’s Hammer" (2011)
The Avengers (2012)
Iron Man 3 (May 3, 2013)
Thor 2: The Dark World (November 8, 2013)
Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier (April 4, 2014)

Some personal favorites:
"The Act of Creation Will Be Your Salvation" by scifigrl47
When Tony Stark was seventeen years old, he built his first AI. On that day, he ceased to be his father's creation, and became a creating force in his own right.
That one act likely saved his life, and not always in the most obvious ways.
"Alchemical Currents" by Greeneyesblue
Captain America / Wolverine, a rare but logical and well-written pairing.
"Full Capacity, Incremental Intake" by Lauralot
An excellent example of how HYDRA is a bunch of sick fucks.
"A Handstand Flip over a Hot-Dog Cart" by LullabyKnell
Steve wakes up in the 21st Century, freaks out, and successfully runs away.
"Look What The Cat Dragged In" by Flawedamythyst
In case of emergency, place cat here. The Winter Soldier gets fixed by a kitten.
"Mama Coulson Knows Best" by BeneficialAddiction
Phil shares his family with Clint.
"people were mean to you, but I always thought you were cool" by Suzukiblu
In which Steve Rogers has some very sharp opinions about attempted genocide against mutants.
"Reasons why HYDRA should not use FedEx" by JoyisaBike
HYDRA loses the Winter Soldier in transit. Darcy Lewis gets an interesting package in the post. Jane just wants to do science. Alexander Pierce is having a Bad Day, and Steve Rogers is confused. Tony Stark turns up in there somewhere, but we probably shouldn't stroke his ego by mentioning that. Also includes milkshake and light angst.
Sequel to "A Handstand Flip over a Hot-Dog Cart" above.
"Scents and Sensibility: The Working Assassin's Guide to Supersoldier Seduction" by galwednesday, silentwalrus, skellerbvvt
Steve/Bucky Alpha/Beta/Omega fanfic in which they circle around each other briefly and then get high as a kite on each other's phermones. Adorkable hilarity ensues.
Do not read with mouth full.
"Sing the Space Electric" by icarus_chained
The SHIELD interceptor spaceship Avenger is under final attack. Aboard her, sitting in his cell, the war criminal Tony Stark gets ready for the confrontation, and the revelation, that he knows is about to come.
"Terra Incognita" by prairiecrow
When Tony Stark bought the remaindered inventory of the long-dead company Knight Industries, he never expected to acquire a compelling mystery along with it.
"This, You Protect" by owlet
The mission resets abruptly, from objective: kill to objective: protect.
Do not read with mouth full.
"The Turing Test" by NiennaNir
JARVIS falls in love with the delivery girl.
"When Push Comes To Chevre" by Copperbadge
Bucky takes up farming in Wakanda. It is adorable and hilarious.

Date: 2023-01-03 08:07 pm (UTC)When I have time, I'd like to come back and add some of my personal favorites -- I've saved a list from each year for the last several -- but today I'm just too swamped to do more.
>>Thank you for the primer, and thanks for participating in this Snowflake Challenge (despite technical difficulties!).<<
I'm glad you enjoyed this.
At least this time it's a known bug, so I figured I could just sidestep it. :/

Date: 2023-01-03 11:41 pm (UTC)Well ...
Date: 2023-01-04 01:37 am (UTC)There's even a bit of Loki, though I haven't had time to write out all of that setup yet. After a certain point, people started prompting things out of order, so oh well. This series was still the longest thing I made in continuity before that happened.

Date: 2023-01-04 12:39 am (UTC)Yes, this! I love how you can write plotty, action-packed mission fic AND domestic let's-watch-movies-and-throw-popcorn-at-the-screen tower fic and they're equally within canon divergence parameters.
Yes ...

Date: 2023-01-04 02:55 am (UTC)Action sequences are alright, though I'm getting tired of the machismo giant-humanoid-robot dominance fights as a plot device - I feel it is overdone, unrealistic, and a rather ridiculous way to fight.
The Fish Out of Temporal Water bit was excellent - including the part where he needs a minder for awhile so he doesn't injure himself or cause (more) trouble.
The villans - eh, they wouldn't be out of place in an '80s Saturday morning cartoon. There was one interesting twist I hadn't seen before, but they were fairly boring.
Overall, I'd say it is worth looking at.
