Yes, please! That would be great. We need all the help we can get.

Another option would be to start a fresh community, if you feel up to moderating. It's a bigger job but you'd have more control.

I have plenty of experience running and supporting communities if you want input.

I'm somewhat familiar with the current moderator, so will confine myself to posting topics of interest and seeing what attention that garners from the current membership for now.

Not an online thing, but I keep meaning to write an oppoising-party politicain who has managed to impress me a bit with their reaction to the fallout of a recent highly controversial decision.

I still don't agree with their stance (and they won't come all the way around to mine) but a civil communication is something I'd count as a win.

That's an excellent idea. There are too few people left who remember the importance of not alienating current opponents who may be allies on a different issue later on.

Well, not even that, but if we are all constantly hollering at each other, nothing will ever get fixed, y'know?

I'd like to at least try and make a connection or find something that both sides can agree on. Plus, if (admittedly a big if) there is common ground, we can maybe get more cooperative effort focused on pushing that common ground in a constructive direction.

Probably it won't come to anything, but no harm in trying, I guess?

As a Madisonian, I'm not sure madison_fights is likely to revive in its current form; that really was a community connected to the 2011 uprising here. Another iteration, on the other hand... :)

I wish that too. We need political discussions now for problem-solving.

I figure if I let people know about DW comms and current activity levels, they can try posting more to them, or make new ones. The latter is especially good if someone knows several folks with similar interests.
