Sep. 5th, 2021 12:14 amI took some pictures of my yard on Thursday, September 2.
This is a wide view of the barrel garden.

Here is a closeup. Marigolds are blooming.

Wild sunflowers are blooming in the east yard.

Here is a closeup.

Corn is starting to ripen.

The container garden has marigolds, petunias, and zinnias blooming.

Hostas are blooming in the purple-and-white garden.

Sedum is just starting to open in the purple-and-white garden. Wasps love it.

This is the septic garden.

Zinnias and garlic chives are blooming.

This pink zinnia is just starting to open.

The limb is still down in the south lot.

Its leaves are starting to fall off.

Here is the white garden.

Cypress vine is climbing.

This is the wildlfower garden.

Spiderwort is blooming.

So is black-eyed Susan. Those green ovals behind it are the seedheads of northern sea oats.

The prairie garden is growing tall.

Young cup plants are still blooming.

This monarch butterfly landed near me. :D I love it when wildlife approves of my yard.

This is the first strip of little bluestem.

This is the second strip of little bluestem.

Look closely: there's a dragonfly in the middle, with a white tail and black bars on clear wings. According to this guide, it's a male common whitetail skimmer. I see many dragonflies of different kinds in the yard, but they almost never sit still long enough to take pictures. \o/

Goldenrod is beginning to bloom. Turns out, it hosts many butterflies.

This is the big bluestem.

Its seedheads rise overhead. This one isn't open yet.

This is not bluestem but is growing in the same patch.

This is what bluestem seedheads look like when they open.

This yellow thing is blooming there too.

Sunchokes tower high overhead. These must be at least 10 feet tall.

Here's the patch from farther back.
