The “Yellowstone” Trauma Kit – Mountain Man Medical $97.34 – $109.38
The Yellowstone Kit is named for the Yellowstone Park in Wyoming which is believed to be first seen by a non-native by Mountain Man John Colter. Stories told by Mountain Men over the next 40 years of boiling mud, steaming rivers, and petrified trees eventually brought more explorers to the region including famous Mountain Man and explorer Jim Bridger. Yellowstone eventually became the first National Park in the United States, approved by President Grant in 1872.
The Yellowstone Kit is a basic but comprehensive Trauma kit from Mountain Man Medical. When designing this kit the team set out to build something that they felt would suffice for 99% of trauma emergencies. Similar to the Sweetwater Kit but with added QuickClot, Chest Seals, and additional gauze.
We dare you to compare it to competing trauma kits that cost more and come with lower-quality components.
Also, when putting this kit together the team focused on compact components. This kit can easily be repurposed to a smaller pouch or an ankle IFAK or cargo pocket. Mini compression bandage, mini marker, small shears, tightly bundled gloves, compact chest seals and 2-inch gauze and bandages are some of the keys to that overall compact delivery.
Contents Include:
Black “Falcon” Pouch with First Aid Patch
Your Choice of Tourniquet
QuickClot Combat Hemostatic Gauze
Hyfin Compact Twin Chest Seal
North American Rescue Mini Emergency Trauma Bandage
2 Pairs Large Nitrile Gloves*
Trauma Shears
Black Permanent Mini Marker
2x Gauze Roll Bandage – 2 inch x 4 yards (Dynarex)
1 Elastic Wrap Bandage Hook/Loop Self-Closure – 2 inch x 5 yards (Dynarex)
T-America offers the option of both a rigid tourniquet and the flexible SWAT-T. Cas picks the SOF-T Wide, which packs down better.
While browsing trauma kits, Cas spies the medicine kits and gets one that he can stuff into his current booboo kit.
