You can't always solve everything, but if you have room to maneuver, you can usually fix enough to make the situation bearable and productive.
I'm greatly aggravated by the modern tendency to make fixable problems unfixable by denying people the right to make straightforward changes. Then they wonder why people "don't want help." 0_o
