"Sometimes problems don't require a solution to solve them; instead they require maturity to outgrow them."

Nebraska Lincoln Freesia's Apartment Exterior
This old brick apartment building has two 1-bedroom apartments downstairs and four studio apartments upstairs.
The elegant wooden staircase has a tiny powder room tucked underneath it.
The kitchenette includes two apartment-sized stoves, a sink, and a narrow apartment-sized refrigerator-freezer. The battered dining table has mismatched chairs, and much of the other furniture is upcycled.
The living area includes a twin bed surrounded by houseplants, but some of them are dying or dead. The crystal corner has an armchair and a rocking chair. An angel frame holds a baby picture of Cas. The crocheted kleenex cover is brown and olive green. The glass box is mauve, jade, and white with a picture of a lotus on it.
The bathroom has a vintage tub propped on wooden blocks, surrounded by an oval shower rod with a bohemian-print curtain.

Shabby-chic is a bohemian style of things that look quaintly worn. There are ways to create a shabby-chic paint job on furniture.
Teen parenting is hard on everyone, parents and children alike. Know how to help teen parents or set up a support group for them.
Connection disruption can come from an unstable or otherwise dysfunctional family, from personality clashes, or other issues. In this case, Freesia was inexperienced and inept. Emotional intelligence can improve family relationships. Parents can take steps to heal attachment damage.
Executive function can be impaired by various causes including brain injury and substance use. This affects some adults as well as children. People can use support techniques to compensate for such problems. Freesia has poor executive function; compounded with her generally bohemian personality and interests, the result is extreme flakiness.
Easter eggs can be dyed naturally, but this tends to be harder to clean up than commercial products which are at least somewhat washable.
You can't force people to change. Forced therapy does more harm than good. This is especially true when the parents or therapists basically want the teen to be someone else. Unsurprisingly it turns people off therapy.
Family therapy often requires a combination of individual, group, and/or shared sessions in order to work through complex problems. There are different approaches to counseling. Family therapy also comes in various types. Here is a guide to working on family problems. Since Cas and Freesia have a shortage of skills rather than affection, some sort of therapy could be helpful to them.
