Modern dolphins use shorelines to trap aquatic prey. I can imagine this one doing something similar, both ways.

Modern whales are social creatures. Imagine something like a wolf pack that could both walk and swim. Members on land and in the water could trap prey between them. Anything else that could cross both habitats could be flushed from one into the other where packmates lay waiting.

As if one 10-foot croco-bear-whale wasn't enough.

LOL I thought that too. One for a small, inexperienced party. A pack would be a formidable threat for a mid-level party, especially if they only saw the first half initially.

Odds are that with those jaws, their bite force could mangle plate armor. Maybe not penetrate it, but deform it to the point where you'd need tools to remove it.

Picturing a party coming into a small town or village and *carrying* one or more of their "tanks" one stretchers and into the local smith's shop.
