Here, our city was given the opportunity to be GIFTED a large tract of land adjacent to the public library, all they had to do was tear down the existing structure and build a new library. They wouldn't do it.
The existing library has been land-locked and can't expand. It has no off-site storage, so for every book that comes in, one has to go out. They have no space, and haven't, for decades. No library bond issue for a new building has ever passed because so much of the local community is retired military. Can't raise taxes, we're poor! (say the people who own 40' RVs and three quad bikes and attend the mega church)
