I'm told that a few places in Japan serve some of the marine isopods (giant pill bugs, anyone?). But I've also heard that the taste is pretty much "meh".

Now if the *giant* ones are edible and don't taste "weird", that'd be something to serve at a con party. They look evil enough to make Klingons take a second look. :-)

Ants seem to be popular in a lot of places. Ditto for grasshopers/locusts.

Some of the larger land molluscs might be a thought. I'm told that with a number of slugs and snails, you want to feed them on cormeal for a day or so to clean out other stuff in their digestive tract. That goes double for earthworms to get the sane and grit out.

Wonder if the giant earthworms are edible?
