Moment of Silence: Beverly Cleary

Children's book author Beverly Cleary has passed away at 104.  She was best known for the characters Henry Huggins and Ramona Quimby.  Given the decay of childhood, her stories about everyday children will provide a valuable archive of a lost culture.  You can find her books here.

I checked all four pages of books shown, and the only four I had not read, or also read to my kids, were in the "young adult" category.

Yeah, she'll be missed.

That's sad, I liked her Ramona books when I was a kid. :( Still, she did live to a grand age.

This is the fist I've heard that she passed. I hadn't realized that she was so elderly. I guess I shouldn't be so surprised. I'm in my 50s and I read her as a kid.
