Computer Update

Thanks to the several people who suggested ways to turn off the "peek" function.  Doug spent over an hour trying to do that, looking for buttons that should have been there but weren't and things that should have worked but didn't, and talking to friends of higher computing skill.  Still didn't work.  :/

Attempts to pad the computer box to reduce noise haven't helped much either.

I have discovered that highlighting and dragging text now produces a blurry image that makes it impossible to see where the text should be inserted.  >_<  So that's been added to the list of shit that needs fixed.

*sigh*  Too tired to try more things now.  It really should not take days on end to make a product marginally useful, nor is it acceptable for a product to harm users.

I did, however, finally managed to finish prompter copies for The Bear Tunnels yesterday, so if you prompted for that you should have all 6 poems.

...yeah, I'm definitely dropping off my spare Windows XP computer when I'm moving.

Thanks for the idea. I don't know whether Windows XP would help; I was using Windows 7 because later versions kept doing things I didn't want. We are still trying to make this computer be more usable, also considering getting my old one fixed if possible (which would be great) or buying a Windows 7 computer from eBay.

Very reasonable. I think there's also at least one Windows 7 computer upstairs that my parents were ready to discard, so I can clean that off if it's still up there and deliver it as a backup. That'll still be a few months at the minimum, though, so definitely not an immediate solution.
