Boss White does not approve of people jerking with his staff. He just let Shiv decide how to handle it, and our boy was a lot more measured than he would've been a year ago.
Of course, Shiv also hates religion with a special fury, after some of the things that have happened to him. This just adds to his overall impression that religion is nothing but a nest of assholes.
