 ... make for flavorful oil you can use to cook other things.

This is true for many other things sold in oil.  I've used oil from sun-dried tomatoes to grease a meatloaf pan.  Mozzerella oil would probably work too.  Any of those could be used to make salad dressing.

Yup- we have one of those humane tilt traps which works best with pnb although it hasn't, ironically, been needed since we moved to a rural area!

I don't remember where to find it, but a few years back I watched a video of a bucket mousetrap in someone's barn, and it looked like the very *same* wood mouse kept coming in and eating the peanut butter. The guy had attached a maze to the bottom to test mouse intelligence and special abilities like squeezing through small holes. The mouse learned the maze and the trap, and eventually had to be tempted by peanut butter smeared all the way down the side of the bucket before she'd fall in. But fall that mouse did, so many times! An excellent running joke, I'd say.
