Speaking of rock candy, there's sneaky practical joke you can pull.
While I was training for one job, we were practicing for some of the processes we'd be doing in the plant. One involved citric acid. But since it was practice, we used large crystals of it rather than the near powder the real process would use. Still UsP grade though.
anyway, these large crystals looked a lot like rock candy. and since I like sour stuff I grabbed a baggie of them.
At home I dumped them in a bowl next to my computer and I'd occasionally suck on one.
It was gaming night and one of the players asked if he could have some of the "rock candy". I let him grab some.
